Buckle Your Seat Belt

One morning while we were discussing opportunities for the future, Desirée said, “Honey, buckle your seat belt; we’re going on a God ride.” This was her way of saying big changes were brewing. We looked at each other knowing that what was unfolding was bigger than anything we had ever encountered. Our strategic approach to success was no longer taking us where we wanted to go. Now something unavoidable was happening in spite of our doubts and fears; the biggest challenge would be to get out of the way.

For a long time, I was not in touch with a higher purpose. I had no compass. Upon first putting pen to paper, I had no idea that a book was being written. I simply began to keep a journal of the inner whispers I was hearing. Initially, I found the whispers unnerving, but I was even more afraid to ignore them. This left me no choice other than to surrender to the unseen machinery of life.

Later, I realized I was beginning to write a book about wealth and finding your purpose in life. But how was I to do this when I was still looking for my own? This was illogical to my ordinary way of thinking, a bit of a Catch-22.

Nevertheless, a different way of living emerged for me, as it can for you. Although you’ll read stories about my personal journey, the book is intended to inspire you to find your passion and follow your dreams. What is that special thing that you feel called to do?

Notice how you feel inside as you read these words. Are you excited? Fearful? Skeptical? Perhaps all of these are true. I know they were for me. What I find fascinating is that through composing this book, my purpose in life became clear.

Writing Wealth Inside Out taught me that things don’t always work the way I think they should. I was locked into a belief that life operates only in a logical, step-by-step manner. Following these steps would surely take me where I wanted to go. Was I ever surprised to learn about an easier, more natural way of being. It is this “new” way that provides the foundation for what you are about to read. So buckle your seat belt for a ride into the heart of your dreams.
